Interior Motives Takes Top Honors at the 2006 Design Excellence Awards Sponsored by The Arizona North Chapter of ASID

Interior Motives Takes Top Honors at the 2006 Design Excellence Awards Sponsored by The Arizona North Chapter of ASID

Fountain Hills, AZ (PRWEB) October 20, 2006

Interior Motives, a full-service interior design studio and showroom that specializes in pre-construction, pre-renovation and soft furnishing design plans, is adding two more prestigious awards to its already impressive list of national and local accolades.

The firm received two prestigious Design Excellence Awards at this year’s Arizona North Chapter of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) competition:

1st Place Award in the Commercial Retail Category

2nd Place Award in Show House/Model House Category

Held on September 30, 2006, at the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa, the award ceremony recognized top creativity and professional achievement of Arizona’s interior design community in four categories: residential, contract, product design and industry partner product design.

“We are thrilled that our work has been recognized by ASID,” said Anita Lang Mueller, founder and principal designer of Interior Motives. “For me, interior design is like the air I breathe. I love it. In Arizona, we are part of a strong design community with many designers I admire and respect. It means a lot to have their support.”

Interior Motives wowed the judges with its creativity for commercial retail design taking 1st place for designing the interior of Scarpé, an upscale ladies fashion shoe store in Scottsdale’s DC Ranch. This chic and progressive design was distinguished for its eye-catching ceiling elements, modular furniture, contemporary acrylic display cases and shelves, vibrant colors and a dramatic glass entrance.

In the Show House/Model House category, Interior Motives received 2nd place for taking a master bathroom to a whole new level. With a challenge to add originality to an Old World design while working with a large round space, Interior Motives was rewarded for taking creative risks and using a rich color palette. The wining design incorporated the ceiling as a fifth wall playing on the round architecture of the rotunda and maintaining the integrity of the building.
