Gulf Shores-Based Company Offers Storm-Stricken Homeowners Free Online Home Improvement Management Services for Next 60 Days

Gulf Shores, AL (PRWEB) March 14, 2012

In response to the recent weather-related destruction in parts of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Alabama, an Alabama-based company is offering homeowners free assistance with managing and paying for repairs through local, licensed contractors.

Doug McCright CEO of Gulf Shores-based SafePact.com says they are offering their online contractor management and escrow services to local homeowners affected by the storms at no cost for the next 60 days.

According to McCright, SafePact.com provides “peace of mind” to homeowners who have concerns about finding and working with reputable home improvement contractors.

“The time period following natural disasters is critical for homeowners who are desperate to have their lives put back in order,” says Lin Saville, VP of Sales and a partner in SafePact, “and they often fall prey to disreputable out-of-town contractors who descend on the area looking to turn a quick buck.” SafePact.com offers homeowners a secure online portal, through which they can contact local contractors, arrange for and approve estimates, and even pay for services through a secure escrow account. Using a SafePact escrow account ensures that the contractor receives payment only after the terms of the contract have been met to the satisfaction of the homeowner.

“Homeowners like working with contractors who agree that payment should be contingent upon homeowner satisfaction,” says Saville. “SafePact.com helps homeowners weed out contractors who aren’t willing to wait for approval before payment. And, speaking as a professional who has spent most of my career working with contractors, I can tell you that contractors like the idea that the payment for the project is right there, waiting to be released after a job well done. Utilizing SafePact actually motivates reputable contractors to do the job right and on time—which is what victims of a natural disaster want more than anything.”

To find out more, visit http://www.SafePact.com. Information about SafePact services, a project calculator, and links to helpful resources are available free of charge. To contact SafePact directly, call Lin Saville at (205) 705-7982, or call SafePact’s office at (251) 517-3311. Toll Free: (855) 723-3722 . Fax:(855) 723-3721. E-Mail: info(at)safepact(dot)com. Canada’s Home Improvement Industry Showing Signs Of Recovery At HandyCanadian.com

Canada’s Home Improvement Industry Showing Signs Of Recovery At HandyCanadian.com

Renovations On The Rise

Toronto, Ontario, Canada (PRWEB) January 04, 2012

Canada’s home construction industry has faced an alarming and steady decline since the start of the global economic recession late in 2008. In fact, numbers released just this past month by the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation pointed to a 13% stop in new home building across the country.

There is one bright spot in the housing construction market, however: home renovations.

Renovations On The Rise

It would appear that while many homeowners are reluctant or unable to sell their existing homes, much less build new ones – more and more are opting to make their current homes live up to their needs and expectations. Nowhere is this trend more evident than on the homeowner and contractor matching website, HandyCanadian.com.

HandyCanadian.com, which helps connect top-rated contractors, including plumbers, home builders, handymen and more, has experienced a tremendous influx of job postings since its official launch in 2006. In fact, the site has just reached the milestone of over 30,000 jobs posted – all told, these projects’ budgets nearly adding up to an estimated $ 1.5 billion dollars worth of business for its members. What’s more, the site has seen a noticeable spike in job postings between 2010 and 2011.

“In the past 3 years, we’ve received over 22,000 job postings alone, with an average budget of $ 45,000,” said Handy Canadian Inc.’s Max Sheppard. “While we did see a dip in postings at the height of the economic downturn between 2009 and 2010, over this past year, the number of job postings has shot up by over 35%. And renovations of kitchens, baths and basements account for a considerable portion of that rise.”

The Numbers Don’t Tell The Whole Story

However, the statistics at HandyCanadian.com don’t tell the whole story. The job postings actually only represent a small portion of the economic activity that the site generates. Because most consumers use the site to locate contractors for their projects using its contractor directory tool, the full scope of the HandyCanadian.com’s financial impact is immeasurable.

About HandyCanadian.com

With 10,192 contractor members, 13,452 screened reviews and nearly $ 1.5 billion in posted projects, Handy Canadian is Canada’s #1 consumer source for finding reliable contractors and home improvement advice. HandyCanadian.com offers professionals who can perform a bathroom renovation, kitchen renovation, new addition or roofing, plumbing and electrical services and much more. Consumers can post desired home improvement projects and receive free cost estimates and expert advice from top-rated local general contractors, electricians, plumbers, handymen and home renovation companies waiting to compete for home improvement, home repair, or new construction projects.

Virginia Home Improvement Company Saves Customers Money Through New Website

Fredericksburg, VA (PRWEB) September 29, 2011

CBS Home Improvements, a Virginia home repair company, launched a completely-redesigned website that it says will help save its customers money and time on their home repair projects. The new website features more in-depth information on the company’s services, money-saving tips and articles, and an offer that can save new customers up to $ 950 on their first project with the home improvement company. CBS Home Improvements specializes in all kinds of projects, including home repair and commercial add-on construction. The new website provides customers one easy-access location to help them make informed choices that can help them avoid extra costs on their home repair projects.

Cameron Sutton, a managing member of the Virginia home improvement company, and 22-year veteran in the construction business, explains that the new website is an important aspect of their overall plan to help customers save money during these difficult economic times: “People still want to repair and improve their homes, whether they are looking to sell or stay put. Through this new website, we provide our customers with quick, easy access to insightful information about the best ways to complete a job, make recommendations about the best materials to use for a particular project, and stay in contact with our customers from start to finish on a home repair. Virginia customers demand quality, and that’s what we deliver. We are constantly looking for ways to help our customers save money without sacrificing quality, and the new website is one of our tools to accomplish that.”

According to the new website for the home improvement company, they have been in the Virginia home repair business for 18 years. What is even more telling is that 85 percent of their clients are referrals from customers who were happy with their home repair. Virginia customers have hired them for everything from roofing replacement and bathroom renovations to basement finishing and kitchen remodeling. In addition to residential construction projects, they have completed many commercial construction projects as well. Their high rating with the Better Business Bureau reflects how happy their Virginia home repair customers have been, and one customer said, “They took our vision and put it into place with attention to detail and quality. They never tired of answering our questions or making necessary changes. They stayed on schedule and kept the area tidy throughout the whole process, which really impressed us.”

Mr. Sutton explains, “Our home improvement company motto is, ‘Where Vision Gets Built’ and that’s what we strive for with every Virginia home repair project. Our new website can help current customers and potential customers see how it all comes together. It shows them how to save money and time on their projects. The reason our customers keep coming back is that their ideas, their visions, their homes matter to us, and they see that. There’s no better feeling for us than knowing that we did a great job that made our customers happy.”
